Privacy Policy

Raw ("we", "us") is a community rating platform where people publish honest reviews of movies, brands, games, books, apps and more. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and what control you have over it.
1. Data we collect
- Account data. Sign-in is handled through our authentication service (Connections) built on Supabase Auth. We store your email address, a user ID, and optional profile fields you choose to fill in: handle, bio, avatar and badges.
- Content you publish. Reviews, ratings, "where did you watch it" details, items you add, and reports you file are stored in our database. Reviews and profiles are public by design — anyone can read them, together with your handle.
- Technical data. Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) processes IP addresses and request logs to serve the site and protect it from abuse. We use your browser's local storage to remember your language preference and to keep your login session active.
2. What we don't do
- We don't sell your personal data.
- We don't run advertising or advertising trackers.
- We don't use third-party marketing cookies.
3. Third-party services
To display metadata (posters, cast, game art), we query third-party APIs such as TMDB, RAWG, TVmaze, Jikan, iTunes, OpenLibrary and Wikimedia. These requests are proxied through our servers where possible; images may be loaded directly from those providers by your browser. Fonts are served by Google Fonts, which means your browser sends a standard request (including your IP address) to Google when loading a page.
Our infrastructure providers are Cloudflare (hosting) and Supabase (database and authentication).
4. How long we keep data
Your account and content stay until you delete them. Deleting a review removes it from the platform; deleting your account removes your profile and your reviews. Backups held by our infrastructure providers expire on their standard schedules.
5. Your rights
You can access, correct or delete your data at any time: edit your profile and reviews directly on the site, or contact us to request full account deletion or a copy of your data. Depending on where you live (e.g. GDPR in the EU, similar laws elsewhere), you may have additional rights — we honour reasonable requests regardless of jurisdiction.
6. Moderation and reports
When you report a review, we store the report (your user ID, the review, the reason) so moderators can act on it. Reports are visible only to administrators.
7. Children
Raw is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.
8. Changes
If we make material changes to this policy we will update the date above and announce it on the Raw Journal.
